About Me

I am a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, functional medicine practitioner and certified massage therapist.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong. At the age of 13, I moved to England, and later to the United States. I moved to Los Angeles, California in 2011 and have been living here since.

I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with degrees in Asian Studies and Eastern Philosophy. While at Temple University, I discovered student activism and soon joined the fight as a community organizer fighting for economic and racial justice for low-wage workers.  However, I was working 80 hours a week and focused all my energy on helping others, thus neglecting my mental and physical health. I soon recognized one cannot build a sustainable movement without self-care.

During the same time, I began healing my own trauma as a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault that had long been suppressed. Through multiple mind and body disciplines like somatic therapy, acupuncture, massage, yoga, qi gong, reiki, hiking, weight lifting, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu – I began to feel safe in my body and pursue my path toward healing and resiliency.

That was when I decided to evolve my community work into empowering people through health and wellness. I attended the National Holistic Institute in 2012 for massage therapy and experienced first hand how trauma and memories can be stored in the tissues. I later became certified in Trauma Touch Therapy to work with survivors to reintegrate safe and empowered touch.

That led me back to graduate school in 2014 at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine to continue my journey into mind and body modalities. While being in school I was trained as a birth doula and True Healing Uterine & Abdominal Therapy to better support women, fertility, and reproductive health.

I later became a technical supervisor at the Emperor’s College Acupuncture clinic to assist junior student interns in treating patients at the teaching clinic. To this day, I continue to study acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), functional medicine, and trauma informed touch therapy to address the root cause of stress and trauma that manifest itself into physical imbalance.

My practice integrates acupuncture, herbal medicine, natural supplements, dietary counseling, abdominal therapy, massage, guided breathe work combined with diagnostic testings to optimize your health, restore balance, and prevent illness.

In my course of life, I recognize how the mind and body can easily disconnect from post traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression – creating adverse effects on one’s well being. My approach is to guide my patients to awaken their mental and physical needs for optimal healing outcomes.

My practice is built on a holistic, gentle, trauma-informed, natural, and integrative perspective. I am a general practitioner with a focus on women’s health (reproductive, hormone, and fertility support), digestive disorders, anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, sports recovery, and pain management.

I believe self-healing can only take place in a safe space where we can begin to release the rooted trauma and emotions that led to physical illnesses in the body.

In my free time, I train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, weight lifting, surfing, and hiking to physically empower myself. I also practice breathwork, meditation, qi gong, yoga, and positive affirmations to balance my inner self. Lastly, I enjoy traveling, cooking, community events, and art.
